The "Giant" was the result of selective cross breeding, in some instanceswith an addition of the Flemish Giant blood.
Credit for the origination of this breed is usually given to Ed Stahl of Missouri.This is one of the only Giant breeds that
is judged primarily for its commercial value.Its meat producing qualities are to be given first consideration.
