Many people like to know about the Giant Chinchilla breed.  They are considered a rare breed because their aren't that many breeders of these docile rabbits. Here we will tell you a little about their background.

Varieties: Standard                                            
Showroom Classification: Shown as a 6 class breed

The "Giant" was the result of selective cross breeding, in some instanceswith an addition of the Flemish Giant blood. Credit for the origination of this breed is usually given to Ed Stahl of Missouri.This is one of the only Giant breeds that is judged primarily for its commercial value.Its meat producing qualities are to be given first consideration.

Registration: Bucks 12-15 lbs
                         Does 13-16 lbs

General Description
 
The Giant Chinchilla body is to be moderately long, massive, powerful, and with full broad fore and hind quarters. When viewed from the side, the topline should start in the middle of the shoulder continuing to the highest point over the hips.
